Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the Telugu Desam-led state government would constitute a Special Task Force to provide suggestions to the government on industrial development and shaping his goal of a Swarna Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister had a detailed discussion on Friday with chairman of the TATA group, Natarajan Chandrasekharan at the state secretariat. The talks mainly focussed on future investments in AP.

Naidu has been focussing on ways to attract investments. He met several entrepreneurs in recent days and explained the vast opportunities in AP and the investor-friendly policies of the state.

Since these talks laid the foundation for flow of investments to the state, the government decided to form a Special Task Force that would formulate necessary plans in this respect. The chief minister would be its chairman while Chandrasekharan has consented to be the co-chairman. The team would involve more industrialists and experts in this sector, the chief minister said.

Naidu said the state government aimed at taking Andhra Pradesh to ‘number one’ position in the country in the next three years’ time, and has chalked out a Vision-2047 document.

He said the state government also decided to establish a Centre for Global Leadership in Amaravati with the active partnership of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The TATA Group has consented to be a partner.

A development centre of the TATA Consultancy Service (TCS) too will be set up in Visakhapatnam. The chief minister discussed with the chairman the possibilities of expansion of operations of Air India and Vistara Airlines in AP.

The discussions also centered on establishing solar, telecommunication and food processing units in the state, officials said.
