Andhra Pradesh: Two Engineering Students Killed in Road Accident

A pall of gloom descended upon the engineering college community near Rajanagaram after two promising students lost their lives in a road accident late Thursday night. The victims, identified as Roanki Praveen Kumar, 20, and Chinta Karthik, 19, hailed from Srikakulam and Palnadu districts respectively. Praveen, a final year B.Tech student, was reportedly suffering from fever.  Kakinada: A pall of gloom descended upon the engineering college community near Rajanagaram after two promising students lost their lives in a road accident late Thursday night. The victims, identified as Roanki Praveen Kumar, 20, and Chinta Karthik, 19, hailed from Srikakulam and Palnadu districts respectively. Praveen, a final year B.Tech student, was reportedly suffering from fever. His friend and classmate, Karthik, a second-year engineering student, offered to take him to a hospital in Diwancheruvu, East Godavari district.

According to Bommuru sub-inspector R. Anka Rao, tragedy struck as a speeding lorry rammed into their motorbike near Diwancheruvu.

Both Praveen and Karthik succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The news sent shockwaves through the college and their families. Adding to the heartbreak, reports indicate that the parents of both students are agricultural labourers. Bommuru police have registered a case and are investigating the accident further.
