Andhra Pradesh: Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli get new district collectors

Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh state government has appointed new district collectors for Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli.

The 2015 batch IAS officer,M.N. Harendhira Prasad, has been named the new district collector of Visakhapatnam. The orders were issued on Tuesday and take immediate effect. Prasad previously served as the additional chief electoral officer of Andhra Pradesh and ex-officio joint secretary to the government in the general administration (Elections) department.
He will now lead the administration of one of the most crucial districts in the state.
The previous district collector, Mallikarjuna, was transferred last week. Since then, joint collector Mayur Ashok has been holding the additional charge.
In a separate development, the state government has reassigned Pattanshetti Ravi Subhash, the district collector of Anakapalli. K. Vijaya, another IAS officer from the 2015 batch, has been appointed as the new collector for Anakapalli.
