Tirupati: YSRC Nellore district president and MLC Parvatha Reddy Chandrasekhar Reddy stated that voters will never again trust public representatives who abandon their party for personal gain.

Speaking at a press conference in Nellore on Wednesday, Parvathareddy condemned the actions of Rajya Sabha member Beeda Masthan Rao and former MLC Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy, who recently defected from the party, branding their behaviour as a betrayal of both party and public trust.

"These turncoats, who owe their positions to the faith placed in them by our leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, have chosen to repay that trust with treachery," Chandrasekhar stated. "Their actions are not just a betrayal of our party, but a mockery of the democratic process and the will of the people who elect them."

Reddy accused the Telugu Desam of orchestrating these defections as a smokescreen to hide their own failures in governance. "The TD is resorting to these underhanded tactics because they have failed to deliver on their promises," the MLC asserted. He pointed out that some initiatives, such as Amma Vodi, free bus travel, and complimentary gas connections, remain unfulfilled, leaving voters disillusioned.

Parvathareddy contrasted the opportunism of defectors with YSRC's track record of rewarding loyalty and promoting social justice. He cited examples of party members who had been elevated to significant positions after joining YSRC, including the late Balli Durga Prasad and Beeda Masthan Rao.

"Our party has always recognised and rewarded those who stand by our principles. It's disheartening to see some individuals now contemplating abandoning these values for short-term political gains," he noted.

The YSRC district president challenged defectors to explain their motives to the public, suggesting that their actions stemmed from selfish interests rather than a genuine desire to serve the people. He pledged loyalty to Jagan Mohan Reddy, stating, "My political journey will always be alongside Jagan Mohan Reddy."
