Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government and Google would sign an MoU for an initiative styled as ‘AI for Andhra Pradesh, Powered by Google.’

Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and Global CEO of YouTube Neal Mohan and Google Asia Pacific Region president Sanjay Gupta jointly held a video conference on Tuesday to explore the “strategic collaborations to accelerate AP’s technological advancement.”

The meeting intended to identify the opportunities where the state and tech leaders could collaborate. The discussions covered topics like digital infrastructure enhancements, skill development and leveraging technology for efficient governance.

Naidu underscored the state’s dedication to foster a congenial environment for technological innovation and said, “AP is on a trajectory to become India’s digital epicentre and we are enthused about the prospects of partnering with global pioneers like Google and YouTube.”

The Google representatives commended AP’s strides in digital infrastructure and reiterated their commitment to nurture innovation and skill development in India.

Both sides agreed to delve deeper into the identified opportunity and an MoU would be signed between the AP government and Google in these respects. The partnership would encompass AI applications in agriculture, healthcare, sustainability, skill development, startup ecosystems, AI workforce cultivation, MSME support through digital credit and AI-driven governance.
