Vijayawada: AP BJP chief D. Purandeswari has called for stern action against those involved in installing a spy camera in the washroom of the girls’ hostel at Gudlavalleru Engineering College at Gudlavalleru in Krishna district. She emphasised the need for the state government to punish those responsible and to take steps to prevent such incidents in the future. Speaking at a state-level BJYM executive committee meeting held at the BJP state office on Friday, she highlighted that the BJP boasts 18 crore members across the country, with 38 lakh members in Andhra Pradesh. She stated that the BJP is committed to developing the state under the slogan ‘Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas’ and noted that the party was re-elected for a third consecutive term due to its welfare schemes for the poor. Purandeswari also claimed that the party is focused on the interests of the people, and through the Yuva Morcha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is offering a series of schemes aimed at the youth in the state.

Meanwhile, YSRC leader Ganga Rajesh Reddy and his followers from the Singanamala Assembly segment in Anantapur district joined the BJP. Purandeswari welcomed him with a shawl. Speaking on the occasion, she remarked that the youth in the state are viewing the BJP positively due to PM Modi’s corruption-free governance and that people from various backgrounds are joining the party, disillusioned with the previous YSR Congress administration.

Later, Purandeswari informed media personnel that, as per the BJP’s constitution, a membership drive is held every six years. She urged party leaders to initiate the membership drive after PM Modi takes party membership at 5:00 pm on September 2.
