AP braces for heavy rains; farmers urged to stay alert
Vijayawada:Special Chief Secretary RP Sisodia has warned of heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh due to a low-pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal. Farmers, especially those harvesting paddy, are urged to take precautions.
Sisodia stated that a surface circulation over the Andaman Sea is likely to develop into a low-pressure area by November 23 and may intensify into a cyclonic system within two days. The India Meteorological Department predicts moderate to heavy rains in South Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema from November 24, with Tamil Nadu and Kerala also affected.
Farmers are advised to monitor weather reports closely and protect their crops. Agriculture officials are instructed to assist in managing the situation.
