Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the validity of the provisional liquor retail outlet licenses until November 15. Following the implementation of the new excise policy on October 16, successful bidders in the lottery were granted provisional licenses, which were initially valid until October 22. This allowed them to establish liquor retail outlets in accordance with regulatory norms and begin sales. However, some licensees have faced difficulties in finding suitable locations and securing regular licenses. In response to these challenges, the Department of Excise and Prohibition extended the provisional licenses twice — first until November 7, and then again until November 15 — to assist licensees in finalising locations and obtaining the necessary regular licenses.
