AP government issues GOs for posts of VCs

Anantapur:State government has on Wednesday issued government orders for filling up the vacant posts of vice chancellors for universities in Andhra Pradesh.

The government further announced search committees for selecting the VCs from among the applicants, who have already submitted their applications to the AP State Council for Higher Education.

Presently, all the universities have in-charge vice chancellors, who had been appointed soon after the Telugu Desam-led NDA alliance assumed power in AP.

Sources said those who have applied for the vice chancellors’ posts are looking for VIPs to recommend their names, particularly to education minister Nara Lokesh.

Professors, who have close access to TD leaders, are approaching Lokesh through these leaders in an attempt to bag the VCs’ post in different varsities.
