AP Govt Forms Committee for Quality Cow Ghee in Temple Prasadam

HYDERABAD: Endowment Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy announced the formation of a high-level committee tasked with ensuring quality standards in cow ghee procurement for temple prasadam. The committee will comprise officials from the endowments department, dairy development, and scientists from SV Veterinary University, with a report expected in 15 days detailing guidelines for sourcing cow ghee.

Addressing the media at the Indrakeeldari temple, Reddy noted that approximately 1,500 tonnes of cow ghee are required annually for prasadam at various temples, excluding the TTD temple.
Additionally, the government will introduce the 'Veda Sambhavana' scheme, providing Rs 3,000 stipends to Vedic students statewide.
The minister also highlighted the successful completion of nine-day Dasara festivities at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam temple, which saw around 13.5 lakh devotees participating without any incidents.
