AP invites top honchos of food processing industry to set up food parks

Vijayawada: AP industries and commerce commissioner Ch. Sreedhar, who is also the chief executive officer (CEO) of AP Food Processing Society, on Friday invited top executives of the food processing industry to set up food parks in public-private partnership (PPP) mode in Andhra Pradesh.
The industries commissioner had been participating in the inaugural session of 15th edition of FoodPro 2024, a three-day international conference on food processing and technologies being held under the aegis of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Chennai from Friday, August 9 to August 11.On behalf of the AP government, Sreedhar addressed CEOs of various industries involved in the food processing sector during an exclusive session titled “Unlocking Value in the Food Processing Sector – Government Initiatives.”
He spoke elaborately about the nine operational food parks in AP that cater to different segments of the food processing industry. He invited the CEOs to set up more food parks in Andhra Pradesh.
The commissioner informed them about the AP’s competitive advantages like export potential, commodity specific cluster and the three industrial corridors. He reiterated AP government’s commitment to foster a business-friendly environment. He informed the CEOs about AP’s single desk portal to grant approvals within 21 days.
Sreedhar spoke about the state government’s commitment to offer tailored incentives for large and mega industries.
At the FoodPro 2024, the AP Food Processing Society set up a pavilion highlighting the comprehensive support available to industries and investors in setting up food processing industries in the state.
