AP Legislative Council passes eight major Bills

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council passed eight key government bills and adopted a government motion during the last day of the session on Friday. The government bills include: Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws (Second Amendment) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments (Amendment) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure (Transparency Through Judicial Preview) (Repeal) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Bill, 2024, Andhra Pradesh Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, and Land Grabbers (Amendment) Bill, 2024. These bills were previously passed in the Legislative Assembly.
The Council also adopted a government resolution requesting the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to rename the Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram as Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport.
