AP power minister urges vigilance amid heavy rains

Vijayawada: Minister for energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar has urged power authorities to remain vigilant during the ongoing heavy rains, stressing the need for uninterrupted power supply and accident prevention. He advised people to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary and to report any downed power lines without attempting to handle them.
Ravi Kumar emphasised that officials must respond promptly to complaints and warned of strict action against negligence. In a teleconference with the Chief Minister, he discussed the situation in Bapatla district, recommending the relocation of residents from low-lying areas to safer locations. He also addressed pension distribution, allowing secretariat employees additional time to complete the process.
