Vijayawada: Water level in Krishna River is rising steadily. Nearly three lakh cusecs of water is being discharged from Prakasam barrage by raising 35 gates by 7 feet. The huge inflows are being received from upstream projects like Pulichintala and Nagarjuna Sagar.

Heavy rains are lashing the state, as the well-marked low pressure area over Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal, off north Andhra Pradesh coast, intensified into a depression on Saturday (August 31, 2024)
The IMD has said heavy to very heavy rains would continue to lash Andhra Pradesh, as the well-marked low pressure area over Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal, off the north Andhra Pradesh coast.
