Ravindra Reddy Remanded in Judicial Custody

Anantapur: YSRC social media activist Varra Ravindra Reddy was sent to 14 days of judicial custody by the Kadapa Court on Tuesday. Ravindra Reddy, who was arrested near Markapuram at the Telangana border on Sunday, was produced before the court, which ordered his judicial remand.

The Magistrate also directed police to conduct a medical examination for Ravindra Reddy, who claimed he had been severely beaten by police and threatened with dire consequences unless he confessed to the involvement of Kadapa MP Y. S. Avinash Reddy in his case.

Ravindra Reddy was transferred to Kadapa RIMS for medical treatment and then moved to Kadapa District Prison. Meanwhile, the court instructed police to release two of Ravindra Reddy's close aides by issuing notices under Section 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
