Kurnool: District superintendent of police G. Bindu Madhav stressed the need for parents to be vigilant, explaining that out of 42 missing cases, 36 young women and girls have recently been found and reunited with their families. Speaking at an awareness meeting in the city on Thursday, Madhav highlighted the rising incidents of violence against women and emphasised that ensuring women's safety is everyone's responsibility. He urged that any harassment or issues faced by women or girls should be reported to emergency numbers such as 100, 181, 112, or Child Line 1098, or to schoolteachers.

Chief legal defence counsel Manohar pointed out that the increase in such incidents is due to a lack of fear and insufficient punishment. He discussed recent attacks on women in Kolkata and Nandikotkur in Nandyal and stressed the importance of teaching girls about good touch and bad touch in schools. Manohar also explained the POCSO Act and other relevant laws, along with the associated punishments.

District Legal Services Authority secretary B. Leela Venkata Seshadri, Kurnool I Town circle inspector Ramanaidu, and others were also present at the meeting.
