AP to set up co-working spaces across districts
Educated women should take up positions: CM
Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said efficient human resource utilization can be achieved through co-working spaces and work-from-home models.
He called for training and opportunities for individuals in villages and small towns, and creation of working spaces accordingly. Educated women should not remain as housewives and must be given employment opportunities.
Naidu was chairing a review meeting at the state secretariat in Velagapudi on Tuesday, on the development of co-working space and neighbourhood working space.
Human resources, he said, can be effectively utilised with co-working space and work-from-home systems. Officials should impart proper training to all educated women living in rural and semi-urban areas and help them with employment opportunities.
Naidu said educated women should not confine themselves to their houses. Work-from-home and coworking centres can provide massive employment opportunities to them. “Women are very efficient and talented. If proper opportunities are provided to them, economic activity will grow,” he said.
The officials informed the CM that they have set a target to create coworking centres in the next 12 months. These centres will be set up at government or private buildings. Till now, 22 lakh square feet of space has been identified for the purpose in different districts, they said.
Naidu said buildings be identified in at least five places for establishing the Ratan Tata Innovation Hubs. The education institutions and industries in those areas be inter-linked to these Innovation Hubs, he said.
