Anantapur: A 34-year-old woman and her two children were killed in a gas cylinder blast at their house in Rayachoti mandal, Annamayya district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Rama Devi, her children Manohar, 8, and Manvitha, 5, of Yerragudi village in Lakkireddipalli mandal. The woman's husband Raju is working in Kuwait.

Rama Devi and her children were staying at Togata Veedi in Kothapeta area where they died.

The cylinder exploded and a fire broke out in the house. The nearby people rushed to the spot and tried to put out the flames.


Police said the gas cylinder burst when the three people were sleeping.

Rayachoti DSP Ramachandraiah rushed to the spot and seized the CCTV footage from the house of Rama Devi following allegations from neighbours.

Sources said there have been differences between the wife and the husband over the phone. Police teams were investigating the case from multiple angles.

The DSP said after thorough verification of the available CCTV footage facts will be revealed on alleged foul play. The bodies were shifted to Rayachoti Hospital for post-mortem examination.
