Araku Chali Utsavam kicks off with cultural extravaganza
The festival showcased dances, bands, and Tollywood songs, including Demsa, Kuchipudi, Thoda, and Gond;

The much-anticipated "Araku Chali Utsavam" commenced officially on Friday morning with a lively inauguration, revealing the spectacular cultural programmes lined up for the three-day festival. Interestingly, in the Friday evening program at the Araku Museum, collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar, joint collector, ITDA project officer, and other district officials delighted tourists with their dance performances.
The day started with Araku Marathon, which took place from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. from Araku Railway Station to the Main Venue of the three-day festivities. The afternoon witnessed the opening of a Flower Show at Padmapuram Gardens, followed by a Painting Competition at the Tribal Museum in Araku Valley.
Flagging off of the Carnival Parade added to the festive atmosphere. Cultural programmes kicked off at 5 p.m., featuring an array of performances, including the Nagada Bheri Band, local Demsa dance, Kuchipudi and tribal dances, the Basthar Band, Thoda dance, Gond tribal dance, Thappeta Gullu, Kommu Koya dance, Savara dance, Jathapu dance, Buda Bukka, Chekka Bajana, Jamuku Pata, Manipur dance, and Tollywood songs with an orchestra. The evening's entertainment included skits by Jaberdasth fame and dynamic dance performances, which captivated the audience.
