Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath alias Chinni said the Ashok Leyland company, which closed down its manufacturing plant after being fed up with the troubles created by the previous government, is all set to reopen the factory at Mallavalli in Bapulapadu mandal of Krishna district. The MP said that he wrote to Dheeraj G. Hinduja, chairman of Ashok Leyland, regarding the change of government and sought to reopen the plant, and got a positive reply.

The MP explained that the Ashok Leyland manufacturing plant was inaugurated in 2015 when N. Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister. However, the plant has been non-operational since 2019 due to the unfortunate events. He further said he wrote a letter to Dheeraj Hinduja requesting to reopen the plant as it can provide employment to more than 5,000 youth and contribute to the state’s economic growth.

The MP said he got a positive reply from Dheeraj Hinduja regarding the plant reopening. “Dheeraj sought support from the AP Government and a company delegation will soon meet the AP industry minister T.G. Bharat in this regard,” he said adding Ashok Leyland was given full assurance to operationalise the plant.
