VISAKHAPATNAM: In a motivational session held on Saturday, Alluri Sitaram Raju (ASR) District Collector A.S. Dinesh Kumar encouraged tribal students to aspire for prestigious careers, particularly in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The event, part of the “Coffee with Collector” initiative, was attended by students from the Lochalaputtu Government Tribal Welfare Boys Ashram School and Talar Singhi English Medium School.

During the informal interaction, Collector Kumar shared his personal journey, emphasizing his rise from humble beginnings in a farming family in Manuru village, Chennai, to his success in the civil services. He encouraged students to remain dedicated to their studies, pointing out that thousands of aspirants compete for a limited number of civil service positions every year.

The collector also stressed the importance of understanding and appreciating the hard work of their parents, while motivating the students to read beyond textbooks to expand their horizons. As a gesture of encouragement, he distributed dictionaries and general knowledge books to the students.

The "Coffee with Collector" program, which will continue every Saturday, aims to inspire and engage students, providing them with the opportunity to interact with district leadership and learn about various career options.
