Bengal tiger dies due to illness at Tirupati zoo
Tirupati: An 11-year-old male Bengal tiger named Madhu died at Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park in Tirupati following a prolonged illness. Brought from Bannerghatta Biological Park in Bengaluru in 2018, Madhu has been under intensive medical care for seven months. Despite treatment and constant monitoring, the tiger's health deteriorated, and it was found lifeless in its enclosure on Saturday. A post-mortem confirmed that multi-organ failure, linked to age-related issues and a weakened immune system, led to its death. Zoo officials stated that all possible medical interventions were undertaken, but Madhu could not recover. The tiger had been a major attraction at the zoo, and his death represents a significant loss for the park.
