Kakinada: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to come to power in the 2029 elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership credited for driving India's progress through a "double engine" government. Under Modi's leadership, India has risen from being the 11th to the 5th largest economy in the world, said Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha member and BJP State President.

Visakha Dairy Chairman Adari Anand Kumar joined the BJP in the presence of Purandeswari at the party office in Rajamahendravaram on Wednesday. She praised Modi for providing a corruption-free government and for his strong decision-making abilities. Responding to Congress’s criticisms of Home minister Amit Shah, particularly regarding allegations that he insulted B.R. Ambedkar, she pointed out that it was Congress who had insulted Ambedkar by defeating him in two elections. She also questioned why Congress had not awarded Ambedkar the Bharat Ratna, while Modi had publicly acknowledged his contributions to his own rise as Prime Minister.
Purandeswari urged new BJP members to uphold discipline, follow party principles, and strengthen the organisation in their regions. She highlighted that 25 lakh people had voluntarily joined the BJP, attracted by Modi’s governance. She also praised the central government’s financial assistance to Andhra Pradesh for the construction of the Amaravati and Polavaram projects, along with other state incentives. She added that the people of the state had suffered under the previous YSRC government.
