Chandrababu Naidu to Launch Janmabhoomi-2
TD plans strengthening of its base in Telangana
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as Telugu Desam chief has chaired the party’s politburo meeting here on Thursday and discussed political strategies for the MLC elections.
Naidu said the nominated posts for the Janmabhoomi-2 would be filled and added that the party's flagship programme in the past would be restarted soon. The party would take up the membership drive by offering Rs 5 lakh as accident insurance. The membership fee would be Rs 100. The TD-led government would take fresh initiatives for poverty alleviation, he said.
The politbureau decided to strengthen the Telugu Desam Party in Telangana.
Naidu noted that seven white papers were released by the alliance government on the scenarios of poor law and order and land grabbing in the last five years. YSRC leaders tried to manipulate the evidence in Viveka's murder case as also in the Madanapalle land scams, he said.
“Just like a false story of Viveka's heart attack was propagated, they projected the burning of files in Madanapalle as a ‘short circuit’ and tried to manipulate evidence. High-level officials were sent to the spot of the fire and contained the flames.”
“Thousands of victims complained to us about Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy's irregularities in a single day. More than 13 lakhs of assigned lands were sold and 40,000 acres of assigned lands were registered illegally during the YSRC term in power. YSRC leaders grabbed lands and developed large-scale settlements with the aid of 22A provision.”
Naidu said, “We will successfully run the Anna canteens on the same model as the Annadanam programme in Tirumala by taking donations. We have distributed more than 98 per cent of the social security pensions in a single day and made sure that none of the elderly and disabled people face any difficulties.”
The chief minister asserted, “We will work towards poverty alleviation and wealth creation through the P4 policy. The government will provide all kinds of assistance and support to the farmers who suffered losses due to the recent rains.”
On Janmabhoomi-2, Naidu said, “A comprehensive plan is being prepared with the cooperation of NITI Aayog for AP’s growth. Vision 2020 has given good results, so we will come up with Vision 2047. The Janmabhoomi programme undertaken in United AP had received a good response from the people. Now, under Janmabhoomi-2, development and welfare programmes will be carried out with renewed energy.”
Naidu said, “those who have worked hard with commitment will be given priority in nominated posts.” The sacrifices of Telugu Desam leaders and workers will not be forgotten. Those who have worked for the party would be identified and the nominated posts filled in a phased manner.
The CM said, “Ministers must come to the Telugu Desam central office. We would take applications from activists and people. It is a good omen that the reservoirs are filled with timely rains.”
The SC categorisation, he said, should be done as per the proportion of the population of each district.
