Vyasaraja Mutt Pontiff Sri Vidyasrisha Theertha has darshan of the Lord Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala.

ANANTAPUR: A Chennai-based devotee, Vardhaman Jain, has donated `1.01 crore each to the SV Annaprasadam Trust and the Pranadana Trust of the TTD at the Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala. The cheques were handed over to TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary on behalf of Sri Vyasaraja Mutt Pontiff, Sri Vidyasrisha Theertha.

The devotee had darshan of the Lord along with the pontiff, who received a traditional welcome from the TTD authorities.

It is noteworthy that Saint Vyasaraja, who served as the Rajaguru and Emperor of the Vijayanagar Empire, performed poojas for Lord Venkateswara Swamy for 12 years at Tirumala upon the request of the Chandragiri king five centuries ago. Saint Vyasaraja is credited with consecrating the Vimana Venkataramana on the sanctum sanctorum, enabling devotees to have darshan.

Many revered poets, including Purandara Dasa, Kanaka Dasa, Vijaya Dasa, and Gopala Dasa, who were disciples of Saint Vyasaraja, composed hundreds of keerthanas extolling the Lord.
