CM Naidu promises to resolve AIIMS Mangalagiri water problem
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said on Friday that necessary steps will be taken to keep Mangalagiri AIIMS in the top three positions in the country and there will be full cooperation from the state government.
AIIMS director Dr Madhabanand Kar met the chief minister at the Secretariat on Friday.
He explained to the CM the services AIIMS provided to the people and the problems it currently faced. “We are not able to expand the services due to a severe water shortage. The work on the pipeline project that was intended to solve the water problem has also stopped,” he said.
The director explained that 7mld of water was needed per day but currently only 2mld was available through tankers.
Madhabanand Kar said that there were also problems about construction of pipelines through forest land. The problems of power supply were also brought to the notice of the CM.
The director said that out of the promised 192 acres, 182 acres have been given to the institute. “If the remaining 10 acres are given, the expansion work of AIIMS can soon be undertaken.”
The director invited the chief minister to visit AIIMS and inspect the facilities there. Naidu responded by saying a full-scale review on AIIMS would be done soon and the issues resolved.
