Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s grievance programme Praja Vedika is largely helping the public to lodge their complaints at the TD headquarters and have quick redressal.

Naidu has pledged to resolve the grievances. The Praja Vedika was launched there in June.

Every Saturday, Naidu as CM and Telugu Desam chief personally receives petitions and listens to the grievances. He made sure that ministers and senior party leaders are involved in resolving the complaints.

TD leaders said some 60 to 70 thousand grievances were received in the Praja Vedika since its inception. Naidu had assigned the responsibility to ministers, legislators and key party leaders, who participate in the grievance programme, receive complaints and forward these to the related departments for resolution.

This has been going on for the past six months and the public is making good use of the programme by presenting their grievances and getting a positive response.

Notably, Naidu inspired his alliance partners, the Jana Sena and BJP, to act in a similar manner. As a result, the Janavani grievance programme was started in JS state office at Mangalagiri. The BJP is conducting the same under the Vaaradhi banner at its state office in Vijayawada. Ministers, legislators and other leaders of the JS and BJP are participating in their respective grievances programmes.

Further, education and IT minister Nara Lokesh also started a grievance programme styled as Praja Darbar at his house in Undavalli. This is also getting a good mass response.

On Thursday, for instance, TD MLA and government chief whip GV Anjaneyulu, MLC Ashok Babu and the state-level buildings and construction advisory committee chairman Gottumukkala Raghurama Raju received grievances from the public. They immediately spoke to the officials and others on the phone to resolve these problems.

Orsu Kiran Kumar and Orsu Balayya of Kasinayana mandal, Kadapa district, came up with a grievance -- that “the YSRC leaders are conspiring to seize the land they inherited.” The YSRC leaders have changed the online records and made illegal registrations, the two complained.

Vakacharla Veeraiah of Mandadam village in Thullur mandal of Amaravati alleged that Chunchu Sudheer of Vadlamudi village cheated them by taking ` 50 lakh from them. Sudheer promised them to provide NOC for their farm that was in list 22A in Vaikuntapuram, but this was not done. The two have appealed for action against him and return of the money.

Rama Rao of Pedda Dornala mandal, Prakasam district, said that in 2018-2019, as part of the development work, he undertook the construction of CC roads in several Chenchu villages. However, he was yet to get the payment for the work.

Jayalakshmi, from Navuluru village, Mangalagiri mandal, Guntur district, came up with another grievance. While her mother was alive, a woman created fake documents to show that she was her father's wife. “Based on these documents, the woman sold our property to someone. The buyer deposited our property in a bank and took huge loans. We are in deep distress now.”

She appealed to the government to take strict action against the officials who assisted the woman and others in the illegal deals to seize her father’s property.

Several others lodged grievances on encroachment of lands, crop canals and other issues. The TD leaders promised to resolve these at the earliest.
