Cotton Procurement Centre to be opened in Saluru

Visakhapatnam: The district agricultural trade and marketing department has announced the establishment of a new cotton procurement centre at the Saluru market in Parvathipuram Manyam district yard in a move to protect cotton farmers' interests. The facility is set to begin operations within two days.

District Agricultural Trade & Marketing Officer I. Gangadhara Rao made this announcement on Tuesday in response to recent reports of declining cotton prices. The initiative aims to provide farmers with a fair and reliable platform to sell their produce.

"We are taking immediate action to address the concerns of our cotton farmers, The new buying centre at Saluru market yard will ensure farmers receive fair prices for their cotton." said Gangadhar. He specifically cautioned farmers against dealing with unauthorized brokers who might exploit them.

The announcement comes as a relief to cotton growers across the district who have been grappling with price fluctuations. The new centre is expected to stabilize local cotton trade and eliminate the need for farmers to rely on intermediaries.

The District Agricultural Trade & Marketing Officer has urged all cotton farmers in the district to utilize this official procurement facility once it becomes operational.
