Court sentences social media influencer to 20 years jail in POCSO case

Visakhapatnam:The Special POCSO Court here has sentenced Chippada Bhargav, known as "Fun Bucket Bhargav," to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment on a charge that he sexually assaulted a minor.

The court also imposed a fine of `4,000,000, as compensation to the victim.

The case dates back to 2021, when Bhargav, then 25 years old, lured a 14-year-old girl to his residence under the guise of filming TikTok videos. Following this, he allegedly blackmailed the victim with alleged nude videos and subjected her to repeated sexual assaults. The crime came to light when the victim's mother took her to a hospital due to complaints of stomach pain. A medical examination revealed that the minor was four months pregnant.

The victim's family filed a complaint at the Pendurthi Police Station on April 16, 2021. The police arrested Bhargav in Hyderabad and brought him back to Visakhapatnam.

During the trial, the prosecution presented substantial evidence, following which Judge Anandi delivered the verdict.
