CRDA nod for works of Rs 24,276cr in Amaravati
Vijayawada:The 43rd meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority chaired by the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has given its approval for the laying trunk roads, developing layouts and erecting iconic buildings at a total cost of Rs 24,276 crore, on Monday.
Urban development minister P Narayana disclosed the details of the CRDA meeting to the media here.
He said that in the four CRDA meetings held, a total of `45,249.24 crore worth works have got approval. “Accordingly, we would build the AP Legislature in 103 acres at a height of 250 meters with 11.22 lakh square feet area. We would allow the general public to the top of the Legislature building from where they can have a view of the capital city.”
This, he said, would be allowed only when there are no legislature sessions.
As for the AP high court building, it would come up in 42 acres at a height of 55 meters in eight storeys spread over in 20.32 lakh square feet floor space. The general administration department building would come up in 17.03 lakh square feet area in a 47-storied building.
In addition to these, several buildings would be built in five towers in a 68.88 lakh square feet area at a cost of `4,688 crore.
“We would develop four main roads spread over 579.5km at a cost of `9,699 crore, the trunk roads at `7,794 crore and do the STP works at `318 crore with a total of `24,276 crore.”
The minister said that tenders would be called for the works by next Monday. Thetender exercise would be completed by the end of December. Development of Amaravati as the capital city would be completed in the coming three years.
