Dinakar calls for steps to ensure supply of potable water under Jal Jeevan Mission
Vijayawada:Twenty-Point Programme chairman Lanka Dinakar called for measures to ensure the supply of potable water under the Jal Jeevan Mission-2024 during a review meeting on the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes and projects at Ongole in Prakasam district on Saturday.
He praised efforts to help self-help group women become financially self-sustained under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana and urged for the inclusion of 2.5 lakh women in the scheme by next year. Dinakar also called for the installation of solar panels in 500,000 houses in the district by 2026-27. He criticised delays in the allotment of TIDCO houses under the PM Awas Yojana and suggested providing basic amenities in these colonies. Dinakar also proposed the introduction of drones in every gram panchayat by next fiscal, with subsidies from the Centre for SHG women to spray nonurea on crops.
