Vijayawada: Minister for tourism, and cinematography Kandula Durgesh highlighted the vast investment opportunities in the tourism and film sectors in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at the American Progressive Telugu Association (APTA) Catalyst Global Business Conference, which has been underway for two days at Hitex in Hyderabad, the minister emphasised the state's progress in tourism development under the PPP model. Durgesh encouraged industrialists to take full advantage of these opportunities.
The minister also outlined the new Tourism Policy for 2024-29, offering incentives and subsidies to investors in the sector. He assured that proposals from investors would be promptly addressed to create new opportunities.Durgesh shared plans for developing key tourism sites such as Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota through the Swadeshi Darshan initiative. The government is also working to enhance tourism in the Godavari and Krishna river areas, including the development of river cruise circuits.In the film sector, Durgesh called on investors to build necessary infrastructure, such as studios, dubbing theatres, and re-recording facilities. He reiterated the importance of submitting Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for swift implementation.The minister highlighted the government’s vision for responsible tourism and sustainable development, including the creation of 50,000 hotels and 25 thematic circuits, such as Buddhist, temple, beach, and river cruise circuits. Durgesh also noted the importance of the state's Buddhist heritage and plans to develop key historical sites like Amaravati Stupa and Nagarjuna Konda.
