EDU REFORMS: Minister Lokesh to Meet Students Unions and Parents
Vijayawada: Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh would meet leaders of various student unions and parents’ associations to discuss issues plaguing the education sector and find solutions.
Lokesh, who has been entrusted with a string of portfolios, is actively taking part in the Praja Darbar on a daily basis to have first-hand information on the problems that the people are facing in different fields. As the head of human resources development, he is holding review meetings with senior officials with a view to effecting radical changes in the education sector.
The minister is keen that teachers should not be assigned any extra task except for ensuring supply of quality mid-day meal. He aims to provide all the basic amenities in the state-run schools, recruit faculty by effectively handling the related court cases, and supply quality school-kits to students.
He has formulated a 100-day action plan to restore the past glory to the IT and Electronics sectors, which “failed” to build strength during the past five years.
Lokesh said that with his past experience guiding him, he would bring radical reforms in the HRD, IT and Electronics sectors to help the state speed up its forward march.
