Ensure India becomes a developed country: GST chief

Vijayawada: Central GST commissioner Sadhu Narasimha Reddy called upon general sales tax employees to work to the best of their ability and make India a developed country.
Speaking after unfurling the Tricolour on the 78th Independence Day at the GST headquarters in Kannavarithota in Guntur on Thursday, Narasimha Reddy pointed out that GST revenue is a key input for nation's development.
“It is the responsibility of all employees to efficiently collect GST and help the country advance economically,” he said.
The GST commissioner asked taxpayers to consider payment of their taxes as a social honour. He called on employees and businessmen to become partners in the country’s progress.
On the occasion, Narasimha Reddy presented appreciation certificates to GST staff and businessmen.
Joint commissioner B. Lakshmi Narayana and additional commissioners Nagaraju and Ravi Kumar were among those present.
