Vijayawada:Bapatla district superintendent of police (SP) Tushar Dudi said the police department made extensive arrangements for Ganesh idols immersion at 200 sites on the Suryalanka and Vodarevu beaches in the district. While inspecting the arrangements on Monday on the two beaches, the SP instructed the officials to implement comprehensive security measures at 200 immersion sites to prevent untoward incidents. He directed police officers to allow only five to ten people to accompany each idol at the immersion points and not to allow women, children and individuals under the influence of alcohol from entering these areas to ensure safety.

The SP further instructed officers to regulate traffic at the immersion points, ensure the idols are immersed in a queue and complete the immersion process by 10 pm each day. Additionally, he stressed the need for 24/7 vigilance and the deployment of divers at the immersion sites.

On the occasion, Tushar Dudi reported that around 341 Ganesh idols were immersed on Monday, out of the 1,536 set up across the district. Chirala DSP Jagadeesh Nayak and SB Inspector Narayana were also present.
