Fatal Collision Involving School Bus in Nellore

TIRUPATI: A tragic accident occurred on National Highway 16 near Kavali in Nellore district on Tuesday morning, when a lorry rear-ended a bus belonging to RSR International School. The collision resulted in the instant death of the bus cleaner, D. Chinna Malakondaiah (60), and injuries to more than 15 students and staff members.
The bus, which was carrying 36 students and staff members, was just a short distance from the school when the accident happened. Local residents quickly responded to the scene, rushing the injured to a nearby hospital in Kavali for immediate medical attention. Upon hearing of the incident, concerned parents hurried to the hospital to check on their children.
Local police arrived promptly to manage traffic and investigate the incident. Efforts are underway to clear the overturned bus, which had been blocking the road. The body of the bus cleaner has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
