Four New Sand Booking Centres Open in NTR District Today

VIJAYAWADA: NTR district collector Dr G. Srijana has stated that, as per the instructions from the state government, they have set up four new sand booking centres in the district, and they will come into force on August 23. There would be no facility to book sand at the stock points, she said. This initiative step has been taken to implement the free sand policy effectively, and it has been added that the new sand policy will come soon.
Addressing the media at the collectorate on Thursday, the collector said that the district administration had set up four sand booking centres. For the Keesara stock point, people could book sand at Kanchikacherla-3 Sachivalayam, she said. Also, for the Moguluru stock point, Chevitikallu Sachivalayam, Anumanchipalli stock point, Share Mohammedpet Panchayat Office, and Polampalli stock point, people are advised to book sand at Polamapalli Grama Sachivalayam, she added.
Srijana said that people could book for sand from 6 am to 4 pm. Earlier, 8 sand stock points were available to provide free sand to the people. She stated that 20 metric tons of sand would be supplied to each consumer per day. To monitor the sand booking effectively and implement the free sand policy in the district, joint collector Nidhi Meena has been appointed as nodal officer, she said.
