GVMC lifeguards rescue Italian tourists at Yarada Beach

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) lifeguards rescued four Italian tourists from a dangerous rip current at Yarada Beach on Saturday. A group of seven Italians were enjoying the scenic beauty of Yarada Beach when four of them were swept away by a powerful rip current. The GVMC lifeguards, K. Venkatesh, K. Lovaraju, and CH Srinivasu, responded promptly and safely brought the tourists back to shore.

GVMC commissioner P. Sampath Kumar commended the lifeguards for their swift action and dedication to protecting the lives of beachgoers. He emphasised the importance of precautions for visitors, urging them to avoid swimming in areas marked as hazardous or when lifeguards are not present.

He also highlighted the GVMC’s ongoing efforts to maintain the cleanliness and beauty of Visakhapatnam's beaches, inviting locals and tourists to enjoy the serene atmosphere without risking their lives. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities and follow safety guidelines to ensure a pleasant and enjoyable beach experience for all.
