GVMC mayor approves 81 agendas
Visakhapatnam: The GVMC mayor, Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, approved 81 agendas, while 1 item was postponed, and 1 item was rejected during the GVMC council meeting held on Thursday. This marked the first meeting in three days since the alliance government came to power. “Every corporator was given the opportunity to speak, and a 9-hour zero hour was implemented to facilitate change within the council,” stated Gandham Srinivasa Rao, TD Deputy Floor Leader. He added that the GVMC also gave every corporator a platform to speak, with a total of 83 items discussed, including inquiries into prior approvals. The council also cancelled the garbage tax, and a resolution against the privatisation of the steel plant was passed.
