GVMC Wins the Prestigious 2024 PRSI National Award for Best Public Awareness Programme

 Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has secured the 2024 Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) National Award for "Best Public Awareness Programme." Commissioner Dr P. Sampath Kumar credited the achievement to the citizens' cooperation.

The award was presented at the 46th All India Public Relations Conference in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on 21 December. Former National ST Commission Chairman Dr Nandakumar Sai, PRSI President Dr Ajit Pathak, and National General Secretary Dr P.L.K. Murthy handed over the award. Additional Commissioner D.V. Ramanamurthy and PRO N. Nageshwar Rao accepted it on behalf of GVMC.

GVMC initiatives like Eco-Vizag, Swachh Survekshan, waste segregation, and single-use plastic eradication have enhanced public engagement. These efforts were showcased in a presentation by Ramanamurthy at the conference. Prominent attendees included PRSI’s U.S. Sharma and Visakhapatnam chapter chairman M.K.V.L. Narasimha.
