Vijayawada: In the wake of recent rainfall caused by a depression in the Bay of Bengal crossing the coast, and the increased vulnerability of people to contagious diseases, Health Commissioner C. Hari Kiran has advised the public to follow certain health tips.People are advised to consume only boiled and cooled water and to eat homemade fresh food, ensuring it is not exposed to flies and mosquitoes.

The Commissioner emphasised the importance of thoroughly washing hands before cooking and eating food. Elderly people, children, pregnant women, and lactating women are advised to avoid exposure to cold weather conditions and to refrain from getting drenched in the rain.

People should fill up water pits with soil and take steps to prevent water stagnation in houses, used tyres, coconut shells, and other containers.

The Health Commissioner urged people to consult the Asha worker, ANM, or MLHP if they experience fever, vomiting, or gastroenteritis. Depending on the severity of the health problems, they should visit the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Urban Health Centre (UHC), or government hospital.
