Heavy rains forecast for South Coastal AP and Rayalaseema, yellow alert for six districts
A yellow alert has been issued for the Bapatla, Prakasam, and Nellore districts in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, as well as for the Tirupati, YSR Kadapa, and Chittoor districts in Rayalaseema
Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for isolated heavy rains and thunderstorms in parts of South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and the Rayalaseema region over the next three days.
A yellow alert has been issued for the Bapatla, Prakasam, and Nellore districts in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, as well as for the Tirupati, YSR Kadapa, and Chittoor districts in Rayalaseema.
The low-pressure area over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, off the North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, has become less marked. However, the associated upper air cyclonic circulation now lies over the southwest Bay of Bengal, off North Tamil Nadu, extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level.
The highest temperatures recorded in the last 24 hours were 34.5 degrees Celsius in Tuni, 33 degrees Celsius in Amaravati, 33.6 degrees Celsius in Visakhapatnam, 27 degrees Celsius in Ongole, 26 degrees Celsius in Nellore, and 26.3 degrees Celsius in Tirupati.
