VIJAYAWADA: Hindu religious organisations have demanded that the state government remove non-Hindu employees from Tirumala with immediate effect. They demanded that a bill should be introduced in parliament against making temples rehabilitation centres for politicians. Protesting against “beef in Lord's laddu" at Tirumala, Hindu religious associations, public organisations and devotees of Lord Venkateswara in Guntur demonstrated at the Prakasam Chowk (Shankar Vilas Centre) on Saturday.

They placed an idol of Lord Venkateswara at the centre and performed pujas to the statue amid chants by Vedic scholars.

Speaking on the occasion, protesters Siripurapu Sridhar Sharma, Vanama Narendra, Jandhyala Ramalingeswara Sastry, Dasari Ramu and Vavilala Kumar warned that if the government fails to act, public representatives will end up facing the anger of Hindu spiritual organisations and devotees.
