Vijayawada:Housing Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy has said all the homeless poor in AP will get houses by 2029.

The minister said the ongoing housing scheme, PMAY, will be completed by March 2025. “The NDA government has promised to construct one lakh houses for the poor by December end, out of which construction of 80,000 houses has been completed. Work on the remaining 20,000 houses is progressing fast.”

In a chit-chat with the media here on Friday, he called on social media users to avoid misuse of the forum and rather help raise awareness on socially important matters. Foster a healthy and informed society,” the minister who also handles the state information department, said.

He said the government was drafting a comprehensive accreditation policy. “It would ensure that all eligible journalists receive accreditations along with other welfare benefits.”

“The government is considering providing houses to journalists under the PMAY 2.0 scheme and I will discuss this with the CM,” he said.

Parthasarathy highlighted the government’s focus on preventing attacks on journalists, issuing health cards to scribes and implementing various welfare schemes for them.
