Visakhapatnam: The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Academy of Defence Production (NADP) to enhance the capacity-building efforts of the Indian defence sector. IIMV director Prof. M. Chandrasekhar and NADP chief general manager Dr J.P. Dash signed the MoU.
IIMV is hosting the management module of the mid-career training programme for Indian Ordnance Factory Service officers. The one-week training programme that started on December 23 offers the officers an opportunity to strengthen their managerial skills. The MoU was signed after welcoming 16 officers into the programme.
The MoU also includes long-term initiatives such as student exchange programmes, conferences and case studies, focusing on academic collaboration, research and development in management, administration and related areas to enhance functional and behavioral competencies.
Dr Dash said IIMV’s core academic brilliance was a driving force behind the development of leadership excellence across a wide range of programmes. He added its successful initiatives such as the Young Scientist Induction Programme and the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship. Prof. M. Chandrasekhar said this MOU was the result of a focused collaboration between both organisations, driven by their shared vision for national development.
