IIT Hyderabad Experts Started Inspection of Halted Amaravati Structures
VIJAYAWADA: Experts from IIT Hyderabad have inspected the halted MLA and MLC building complexes in Amaravati on Friday to know their strength and quality. They will study on how to proceed with the incomplete structures.
IIT professors Subrahmanyam and Munwar Basha told the media that the current condition of buildings, impact of standing rainwater and the up-to-date condition of construction materials should be assessed. “It would take some more time to determine the strength and capacity of the buildings,” they said.
“We will submit a report to the government after examining them technically. It is not clear how long the report preparation will take. We will provide it to the government and CRDA as soon as it is ready,” they added.
On Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s decision, the government had asked experts of IIT Hyderabad and Chennai to conduct a detailed study and submit reports for restarting works of halted Amaravati structures.
Before 2019, construction works of a few buildings were started but were stopped midway, while other structures started and are at foundation-laying stage.
