IMD forecasts above-normal temperatures for Coastal Andhra
Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Amaravati has reported that temperatures in north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema are expected to be above normal by two to four degrees Celsius for three days starting Tuesday. This rise in temperature is attributed to dry weather conditions and north-easterly winds, according to IMD director Stella S.
Despite the current dry spell, thunderstorms are predicted for November 7 and November 8, resulting from a cyclonic circulation developing over the southeast Bay of Bengal. Although this system is not expected to strengthen into a low-pressure area, regions including Nellore, Tirupati, Kavali, and parts of the Annayama district are likely to experience isolated rainfall.
In the past 24 hours leading up to 8:30 am on Monday, several areas recorded rainfall, with Palamaner in Chittoor district receiving 22 mm, Tada in Tirupati getting 20 mm, and Kuppam also in Chittoor recording 17.2 mm.
Temperature observations indicate a notable increase, with Narasapur registering a rise of four degrees Celsius, reaching 34 degrees, while Machilipatnam recorded an increase of 3.3 degrees, with a temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius.
