IMD predicts heavy rain for coming two days in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: Heavy rainfall is expected across isolated areas of north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema on July 7 and July 8, said a report released by IMD, Amaravati on Friday.

The report also forecasts strong winds, reaching speeds of 30 kmph to 40 kmph, in these regions during the period of heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms are predicted for July 6 and July 9 in the same areas.

In the past 24 hours until 8.30 am on Friday, significant rainfall was recorded in several places- Narsapuram in West Godavari district received 54 mm, Bhimavaram in West Godavari district received 50.6 mm, Polavaram near Eluru received 50.4 mm and Kunavaram in ASR district received 42.4 mm of rainfall.

Moreover, there has been a notable drop in temperatures. Narsapuram recorded a decrease of 4.1 degrees Celsius, with a current temperature of 30.4 degrees Celsius, while Machilipatnam saw a drop of 2.9 degrees Celsius, with the current temperature at 34.4 degrees Celsius.
