Vijayawada: YSR Congress president and former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticised the Telugu Desam-led coalition government for halting transformative reforms in education and staging routine parents-teachers' meetings as ground-something unique.
He accused the NDA coalition of failing to deliver on its promises like Amma Vodi, leaving parents burdened with costs. He asked how infrastructure upgrades under Nadu-Nedu could be stopped and schemes like Vidya Deevena undermined.
Jagan Mohan Reddy charged that the coalition government’s leaders led by Chandrababu Naidu are misleading citizens with false promises and political stunts, instead of addressing genuine educational challenges.
Taking to X, the former Chief Minister posed seven questions pointing out that education is being undermined. He maintained that parents-teachers meetings are nothing new. They are an integral part of education. He pointed out that Amma Vodi has been stopped. He underlined that parents are in distress as they are not getting any support from the government.
“Why are the Chief Minister, his deputy and education minister not speaking about this? This is nothing short of cheating,” he declared.
Jagan Mohan Reddy said within six months of Naidu-led government coming to power, the education sector has degenerated. He maintained that parents are feeling compelled to shift their wards to private schools.
