Tirupati: The Jana Sena has called for the construction of affordable wedding halls in Tirupati using funds from the SRIVANI trust to benefit middle-class families.

At a press conference in Tirupati on Wednesday, Jana Sena's Tirupati in-charge, Kiran Rayal, accused the previous YSRC government of misusing Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and SRIVANI trust funds under the guise of temple construction. Rayal alleged that funds were embezzled, declaring that those responsible would face imprisonment.

Highlighting the financial strain on middle-class families organising weddings in Tirupati, Rayal proposed using SRIVANI trust funds to build new wedding halls. "Constructing kalyana mandapams in Tirupati with these funds would allow families to hold weddings without going into debt," he explained.

He also pointed out the need for more wedding halls in Tirupati, noting that many existing venues are inadequate. Rayal plans to bring this issue to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's attention.

Rayal emphasised the importance of protecting TTD's assets and using them effectively to benefit the community, aligning with the sacred nature of the Tirupati region.
